Dear All...
Just a brief newsletter to share recent news and links.
Congratulations to Louie Palu, one of our 2009 grant winners, who has won the 2010 Alexia grant for his project, "Home Front," which won Palu his Aftermath grant in 2009. It's an important project that continues to draw attention and accolades, and we're proud to have helped Louie further this work.

Congratulations, also, to 2009 Aftermath finalist Saiful Huq Omi, who was once again a finalist for the Alexia grant. That's two years in a row for him.
The Christian Science Monitor ran a recent piece on the Aftermath Project. You can read it online here:

And lastly, please forgive me for a bit of self-indulgence. I don't use this newsletter, or the Aftermath Project, to talk about my own ongoing work on aftermath issues. But I wanted to share this link to a documentary that I'm directing and producing about a remarkable grass-roots, post-conflict forgiveness program in Sierra Leone. We recently won a grant from the Sundance Documentary Institute to help support the film. It's called "Fambul Tok." The program itself is one of the most amazing things I've covered in more than 25 years as a journalist.
I'd love to hijack everyone on this list to the newsletter list for the film, but that's actually unethical, so I'm not. If you'd like to sign up to find out when the film premieres, and when it might be screening near you, please do so. You can sign up on the home page.

I hope you enjoy the trailer that's on the site. I'd love your feedback.
More news coming soon -- we'll be offering a special collection of photographs for sale to support publication of "War is Only Half the Story, Vol Three." I'll be sending out a PDF of the images that have been donated by our 2009 grant winners and finalists.
Warm regards,
Sara Terry
